are you nuts? an ocean race? you know those boats sink! count me out!
Don’t know your course, but we just finished a 15 mile ocean race in Harbor 20’s in up to 20 knots of wind (Goleta pier and back), and these boats handled it very well.
A comment on the ocean race deal, as this is going to be “casual” racing could we finish between J mark and the jetty entrance. I guess we are going to take our own finish position. It is kind of nice to be part of the way home at the finish.

Greg Hawkins has volunteered to serve as RC with his Whaler. Greg often is Nik’s crew on #109 Wiggit. The plan is we start out near the Balboa pier and sail about 3mi upwind to R4 mark and back (will talk with Karl and Greg regarding the finish line per Jack’s suggestion).
The Whaler may follow us around the mark for added safety.
OK, We’ll bite. We will try almost anything once. Count us in. Steve and Joan #300.
